I’m always surprised at how popular this painting is. I suppose it’s the simple composition and light-handed approach to coloring it which evokes a sense of calm that appeals to people. I shot this on 35mm black-and-white celluloid film and printed it out on special black and white paper in my home darkroom, then painted it with Marshall photo oils and finishing off the details with colored pencils. While this painting is many years old, it continues to be very popular.
