I took the image for this painting in my backyard while walking my dog. I love everything about lilikoi, the Hawaiian name for passionfruit, from its incredibly unusal flower to its tendrily vines to its tart fruit. I printed the image on black-and-white paper and then hand-painted it with a combination of watercolors, oils and pencils.
